Empire Global Art Awards

Empire Global has partnered with the Tuggeranong Arts Centre in Canberra’s newest annual art award.

CEO of the Tuggeranong Arts Centre Rauny Worm says the Empire Global Art Award follows in the long tradition of the Arts Centre in supporting young and emerging artists. The inaugural theme for our brand new award is taken from the great Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, who said “Art is the lie that enables us to realise the truth”.   “We’re hoping the theme will encourage people to submit art that speaks loudly”.

Empire Global’s Managing Director Tom Simunic reinforced his commitment to the growth of the Tuggeranong Town Centre, providing homes for more residents, and supporting increased economic activity in this area. “Arts and culture is a critical component of developing a vibrant city, and we are excited to be able to help foster this in Tuggeranong”, Mr Simunic said.

The Award invites entries in two categoris: artist aged 15 – 25 years and artist over 25 years; with both attracting a $2000 cash prize each.  All artwork must be original and needs to have been completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited.
